Winter Festival of Lights

Niagara Falls, ON

Winter Festival of Lights profile image

Every year Niagara Falls hosts an amazing light display presented by Disney. It is a great chance to take a stroll and drink hot chocolate with the family and enjoy some interesting sights and sounds. Now, Niagara Falls has a host of interesting things to see and do, but the Festival of lights is a great way to do it on the cheap.

There is a 2 kilometer strip along the side of the Falls called Niagara Parkway; this is where all the action happens. There are displays all along the parkway; some with music and some with motion. Kids love it! On some nights the have fireworks and concerts as well. But if you time it just right, you may be able to walk alone with your family and enjoy the sites in peace.

On some nights, Walt Disney World does a presentation with a concert for the kids; it ties nicely with the displays. But if this is not your thing, Niagara Falls are also lit up during this time and you may enjoy a walk along the gorge and view the falls.

There are a few tips that will make your visit to Disney's Festival of Lights like where to park, how to get around, what paths to take. As an Outings.ca Member, you can see these tips. But we will share this one for free; parking can be a pain. It is best to park at Casino Niagara and walk down Murray Street to Niagara Blvd. This will save you time and money, and put you right in the action.

It is worth the drive to Niagara Falls to see Disney's Festival of Lights.
